Sorry the group is so large - that means a lot of losers out there after I win the challenge. Oh well, somebody has to win right? Seriously, if I understand this challenge correctly I set my goal (make it hard) and track progress or consistency right? Do we report via percentage reached? Not trying to make this difficult, just wanting to record this correctly. Tell me if I am thinking correctly: My goal could be: Core workouts 3x/week week 1: 7 minute routine, nonstop, 3 times = 21 minutes for wk 1 week 2: 10 min routine, 3 times = 30 min for week 2 etc, etc....would this work? And Stuart - what HR zone should I do this in? JUST KIDDING! I could not resist I know....use RPE between 2.7 and 6.4 - I crack myself up~.

As long as it is measurable. I told Brad I was doing 7,000 crunches in Feb, so he thinks he will do 7,001. those are measurable! |

New user 37 OKC | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed Hmmm... not very good at situps. But, if I do 250 a day, I can hit 7000 as well. Then I just have to squeeze in a couple more to seal the victory. Guess I should start warming up now since I'm not even sure I could do 250 a week! In any case, my vote would've been for A, but I'm down for whatever the majority decides! |

RPE OF 11 OR IT DOESN'T COUNT!!!! I'll be aim for an average of 120s plank every day, so 56 mins for the month. Let's all stick to the honesty system please - I don't want you guys to have to do a Lance Armstrong to beat me. |

Veteran 206 Hilliard, OH | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed Here is my goal - I will do the "around the world" workout that was referred to. (ikes! I'm already getting nervous.) I will start with 10 of each and will increase by 1 every day. By the end of February I should be 38 of each. Oh My! My core is my weakest and hopefully this will be what changes that! Thanks for the challenge. (Anyone have Lance Armstrong's phone number? I might need some "help".) |

New user 91 | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed My goal for the Feb. challenge will be 125 Crunches (25 reg and 50 to each side), 125 V-Ups (hands to toes), and 6 sets of 30 sec Planks (2 normal, 1 on right, 1 on left, 1 right arm/left leg, 1 left arm/right leg) Then what ever else on top I feel like throwing in.
That should put me well past the mark set by Bradley and James. Pain is weakness leaving the body!

Member 36 Alpharetta, Georgia | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed For my February Core Challenge, I'm going to do the "Around the World" workout. I'll start with 5 reps each and increase by one each day. This is going to be tough because of all the additional core work with Insanity, but it's better to set a very difficult goal for yourself and fail, than to set a goal that would be easy to achieve. |

Veteran 286 Brisbane, Australia | Subject: RE: JFord Bradleyd3 2013 Spring Group- Closed So this weekend sorta sucked for me. It was Australia Day (big public holiday) on Saturday, and so we had a day off work on Monday, plus I had an RDO on Friday, so a 4 day long weekend! Should be great for training right!? Right? WRONG! You may have seen on the news (I don't know whether Australia is important enough to make the US news) but we are experiencing some pretty bad flooding and super heavy winds in my state at the moment. Where I live is ok, but others in my city in lower lying areas have been inundated. As a result of the severe winds and rain, I wasn't able to do my long 4 hr bike ride on Sunday But that's ok becuase I went to the pool thinking it can't be too wet to swim. Right? Right? WRONG! Settling in to my 2nd of 4 1000m repeats, I get a grab on my foot, saying they had to close the pool because of the heavy wind! Damn! I guess someone was telling me that it needed to be a day off. I could have gone to a gym, but there is no way I'm paying $15-18 just to ride a stationary bike or run a TM. Yesterday I did an unscheduled ride to try and make up for it. Did 1 hr in the rain and mud (our city's river flooded and the bike path next to the river is covered in mud and sticks and dirt). Felt good to be out. Good character-building ride. Hope everyone else is going well and staying injury free! |

Dang Stuart, I had no idea. My wife spent the weekend watching the Australian Open on TV, but I know nothing of the flooding! Hope all is well and there is not much damage there! |

I know that would be far more comfortable but totally inefficient. ok, back to square one...new shoes if I recall correctly 1. same brand? brands will differ slightly (width and shape of insole). If different, maybe replace insole with the blue gel insole from pharmacy. I have done that before on mtn bike shoes -worked. 2. hotspots for me are caused by shoes being too tight in most cases - play with that 3. check form - heels down? sliding foot to the rear position as if you are scraping mud off? you may being putting more stress on the ball of foot if form is off 4. seat position...I hope we did not change seat set up over the winter. If so, the force on lower leg and foot are different. Move the seat back to orig posn if you did adjust seat. If those ideas fail, I would return the shoes to the bike shop and try a different brand. Barefoot? hmmm - I agree, bad idea Sorry you are having issues...I know that is frustrating. |

I am weak...if I had dental work and sore ankle I would focus on sitting on my couch with ice (cream) |
