Hi everyone

Just got back from another week on the road.  Before I left I had to remove my ErgomoPro powermeter from my bike for servicing.  So, today's project is putting my old bottom bracket on my bike.

First race is coming up a week from today, a 25k trail run.  Then, a 10k road race the week after.  No more races after that until a couple of duathlons in mid to late May.

A little cold and drizzly this afternoon but since they don't cancel races because of cold and wet, I got out for a few. Hope everyone is doing well.

Heh, I don't know that I'd go that far. I like running in that kind of weather. My legs are kind of trashed after 3 straight days of running. But 2 days off from running should do the trick. I have a long run this Sunday. I have a long bike on Saturday. I am trying to get back into the swing of hardcore training. It's just hard to get going again. Well, in the fact that I can't just jump in going full out. That I have to not work out as hard as I want to and kind of ease back in. It's the one thing I don't like about racing....taking time off.

Hi everyone.  Glad the weekend is finally approaching.  Work with my new job has been a little hectic.

25 k trail run on Saturday so Friday I'll probably go easy on the legs by swimming.  Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

I wiped out my bike today   I was with my friend Bob and we were going down hill on  aback country road and around a pretty tight corner, he was ahead of me and yelled "clear" so I would know I had the whole road to use to corner and I had no idea wheat he said- so was kind of looking around wondering I hit the gravel and the bike just went out fromunder me- yeah I was problay going faster then I should have- I am just getting used to being so aero.  Dont worry the bike is fine   Just some scratches on the end of the bars.  But me?? UGH- ugly I have a feeling it is going to feel worse tommorrow.  The vest part??  I didnt cry, I got right back up- made sure my bike was OK and rode another hour

Am I going to be Ok to train tomorrow?? Swimming- is it going to hurt??  Oh well Ill do it anyway

As soon as I get my camera back from my sister Iam going to take pictures- actually looks pretty cool

Ugh, that stinks. I am glad you are ok. I've heard that bikes a little more loosey goosey in the aero position.

I was dreaming of a tri bike yesterday. I went out for a 40 mile ride yesterday and that wind was....intense. Made for a good workout.

I like your attitude. Good luck with sunday training.

What's up kiddos. I think I have not check this thread in a while. Hopefully training is going good for everyone. For me it has been really good as of late, starting to get some long workouts in and getting into a groove. Congrats to MSIronman on the HIM. I will also be at Steelhead as we dominate over The Racine Clan.

I will try to follow this a little closer and not be such a stranger.

Yup. Ouch. Big ups for riding for another hour. You know they don't pause the event if you crash, so best to get up and get going. That way you KNOW you can do it!!

Shermbelle, it's great to see you here. You train like a maniac. It looks like you could do Redman tomorrow. I wish I could swim like you. I bet if I got in the pool more, I would improve.

It's good to see everyone here have such great training/racing weekends!

Oh man!!!!  It hurts just to look at those burns!  Way worse than I was expecting it to look.  Nice pink sandals though

You need to start a new thread on the Triathlon Talk forum titled "Best road rash pictures"   seriously!

I see you are still in denial over the inevitable results of this matchup

Was a decision ever made on how this team comp will be scored??

What's on tap for everyone this weekend?

I'm going to get in a quick 30 min swim after work today, then an interval workout on the bike trainer.  Saturday is a 3 hour bike with 20 min brick run.  Sunday probably a 12 mile run.  On Sat or Sun I'll try to work in a longer swim in the afternoon if the weather prevents me from doing landscaping work.

Here is my crappy race report.  Not that thrilled with myself.    AND if anyone else tells my I am overtraining I am going to lose it.

Looks like an awesome race to me!!

I looked at your training log and there is NO way you are overtraining. You seem to be right at 600 min a week or so. That's perfect. IMO.

I finally got a diagnosis. Extensor Tendonitis. Bah. Oh well, better than a stresss fracture. My next run will be the Madison Marathon. It kind of sucks since I will have run about 10 miles in 4 weeks at that time. Oh well, my fitness should still be OK. I am swimming and biking and I just added rowing to the mix. I am trying to stay fit without running.

I think I should be fine.

hey peeps

First real race of the year this weekend. Fifth Third River Bank Run 25k, largest in the country and right on the roads I train on. I love it. Not really tapering for it seeing I ran 12 miles last night but good to race again and at least see what the legs have or don't have.

I have run a 5k and a 10 mile race this year but pushed my son both times so can't really count those. Anyone else racing this weekend?

Not me. I do have a 70-80 mile training ride this weekend.

I did get a diagnosis. It's extensor tendonitis. That means I can run the madison marathon. I just can't run until then. So it will be a month long 0 running taper when i run it. No problem, right?
