Crazy double post...

I'll use it to say that I went to a giant REI today. It was so awesome. I got a really cool new bag for work.

Did you check out their Mtn Bike course.... I heard it's indoors!!!!

It is!! They also have indoor tracks to try out hiking boots, a stream to try out water purifiers, etc. Two floors...

They are building one in my area, but it's not going to be anywhere near as huge.

All we have in our REI's are climbing walls, rocks, and wooden bridges...

Im confused.. I thought REI was like a sports store?

More like outdoors stuff - hiking, camping, backpacking, biking, skiing.

Lots of cool backpacking / camping stuff!

So somewhere I would NEVER have a reason to go

Having never really participated in either activity...

Funny thing is that when it comes to that sort of stuff, I usually revert to Campmor... the deals are MUCH better than getting my rebate....

Never been to a Campmor. Backpacking equipment can definitely get expensive real fast. We've got a trail here called the Ozark Highlands Trail that's 219 miles long. One of my goals is to hike the entire thin in a single clip someday. I'm slowly accumulating all the necessary gear to get it done, as that will be a pretty extensive backpacking trip.

Campmor's only store is in jersey, just off the Washington bridge... check out their webiste, www.campmor.com....  there are some great deals, esp on long underwear...

I like Campmor. I use their catalog a lot.  REI is more fun, though, just for going to and looking at all the stuff.

Noting the price, model, how it fits, etc.... then go home and order from either Campmor or Sierra Trading Post....

Morning NIbbs, just stained half my deck.  Will be working on the other half after my errands today.  Luckily lunch out with a friend is one of my errands.

Good afternoon, Nibbs. Done with work, doing the laundry and I ran at 6am on the track Might get to squeeze in a little nap if I don't have to sub a make-up swim lesson.

I guess either everybody has a life and is enjoying a long weekend or they have been sucked into werk. I can't believe I actually fall into the category of being sucked into werk instead of my normal I have no life besides triathlon and kids.

Well I got the rest of the deck floor stained.  Now I need to find time to do the railings.  Off to CAlifornia to visit with the grandkids and chances are I won't find time to get on BT (I feel the withdrawel symptons already).

Have a great Holiday weekend everyone, and stay safe.

I woulda had a lot more time for Nibbin'ing if I hadn't been changing a flat rear tire. Sux.

I have now found parts of my bike I didn't even know I had. Derailleur. Yeah. Whatever.

In the last 2 weeks I have had 2 flats (one front, one back). I'm impressed by my tire changing capabilities, but a little tired of doing it. Meh.

Happy long weekend, all!
