Someone recently posted that one of the online tri stores had a good policy for trying different saddles/good return policy? I went back in our posts but can't find it  - can someone remember which one it was?

A good article on post exercise smoothies - I love the suggestion of ricotta cheese and pomegranate juice!

So I wrote up a summary of Armstrong's Complaint and it was published on slwotwitch:

Kelly great write up ! Especially for putting the law into "everyday" terms. I struggled with lawyer speak in my Law and Ethics MBA class haha!

Ha, ha, you guys are funny. It's actually 10 of us that are having dinner with him, then a big group presentation. It's just so awesome to be near such greatness! I am going to watch Racine on Sunday ... Hopefully he can pull off another win there. He is such a neat guy, very laid backSo I am sure he doesn't want to talk about racing the whole time ... Give me some ideas on what to talk about, or questions to ask

Ran to the high school track to do 2 x 2 miles in repeats this morning.  Left fairly early and was on skunk patrol.  Skunks were introduced into Cleveland Heights to get rid of the rats in the 80s.  Now we have an overpopulation of skunks.  They are everywhere.  GROSS.  You'd think I were crossing paths with a bear or something the way my HR skyrockets when I cross paths with one.  What's the worst that can happen?  You stink for a couple days; right?

My babysitter cancelled, so I have to figure out when to do my Z2 intervals on the bike.  I may have to put a movie on for the boys.  We'll see.  I'm not feeling an 8 p.m. ride.  It won't happen.

Jen the same thing happened to me last night. I even went and bought a headlight for the bike just in case. Got home and was exhausted after getting the family ready to drive to MI. Good luck and hope you get it in.

Run in on the bike with a kid on a skateboard being pulled by a dog. Kid and dog are fine. I, however, gained a dislocated and severely sprained left shoulder (bike is fine too).
Not my year.

She is feeling a bit better.  Xrays were negative last night so she has a bunch of soft tissue damage.  She's bummed about the impact this may have on her ability to race NYC.

The full story was that we went out for an easy recovery ride and decided to go on the bike trail.  Coming along a flat straight, a kid got on his skateboard so that his dog could pull him.  The dog saw the bikes and started running right towards us, with the kid gaining speed behind him on his skateboard.  Kel swerved to miss the dog, I swerved and ended up t-boning Kel.  I went down hard on my hip but Kel went down on arm.  Her elbow took the brunt of force and the transmission of force dislocated her shoulder out of its socket.  By the time the xrays were done, the head of her humerus was back in the socket and she was left with a bunch of soft tissue damage.

That sounds awful. Hope you are both feeling better soon. How is Kelly's range of motion this morning - can you move it at all?

I hope you both recover quickly. The day after is usually the worst, so pop the pain pills as needed and rest. Did they put Kelly in a sling or is she free to move as she pleases?

Why I hate multi use paths.  No one seems to be able to use them properly, or is there a properly, IDK.  Hope you feel better sooner than expected Kelly.  You deserve a better year than you're getting.

Worked from home yesterday and had ESPN on in the background.  Basically all coverage was of the Freeh Report and Penn State.  My stomach turned all over again, but it got me to thinking about sports figures and their idolization in our society.  I haven't blogged in a while.  May write something about this.  I find it odd how emotionally invested people get in sports figures and the standards they're held to as opposed to other public figures.

Ouch that totally sucks. Heal up quick. I dislocated my shoulder playing football returning a kick off. When I hit the ground with the tackler on top of me it went out. I can still remember screaming because the pain was so intense. He hit me so hard that we bounced off the turf and on the second hit it popped back in. I was only 15 or 16 at the time so the healing was pretty quick but even then I believe it was 4 or 5 weeks before I felt right again.

Glad she is feeling better. Hopefully you both heal quickly. I've dislocated my shoulder twice and neither time felt great the first couple of days. Good news though is both doctors recommended swimming for rehab

Just booked hotels for IMTX and for Oilman.  Now that I have sufficiently bankrupted my family this week I'll go back to quietly sleeping, training, and hanging out with the girls.
