Run
Comments: The run was aptly named and very nice. The course was well shaded throughout, which helped keep the body temp down. What would you do differently?: Nothing, I was using this as a trainig run for the Denver Marathon, so I choose to take it easier. Post race
Warm down: Unfortunately (kinda), the start and finish were several miles apart, so I decided the day prior that after I finished the 10 miles I would run back and get the car since I am scheduled for a 16 mile run this week anyways. Figured I could knock out two birds with one stone that way. So after I got back to the car I stretched for a few minutes and then headed back to the finish line to pick up Laura. I got a little lost going back, but I eventually found here. She didn't mind to much since she found a Starbucks near Wash Park. What limited your ability to perform faster: If I hadn't choosen to use it as a long training run, I could have pushed it much harder for those ten miles. But I wanted to have energy for the last six miles. Event comments: Next year I am hoping to really be able to "race" this one and not turn it into a long training run. Some of that was because I didn't want to burn out my body for the race I have in six day. It is always nice to be able to adjust the schedule as needed. Last updated: 2008-08-07 12:00 AM

Got up around 5:30. Unfortunately I didn't sleep as well as I would have liked, but tends to be the case the night before the race. Eat a banana, gathered up all my race stuff (Garmin, race belt, etc), and headed out the door so that we could get a decent parking spot near the beginning.
This consisted mostly of getting in the line for the port-a-potty, light streching, and lots of standing around. Oh what fun.
