Artemis - 2008-01-19 11:32 AM Morning, Nibbs! I have a busy day today. I have to finish a few things before a friend's bachelorette party tonight.
Have fun and don't get into too much trouble! We are off to Boone in just a few minutes. Snow and skiing. Yay! Have a great weekend, everybody!

I will try.

Enjoy the skiing!!

Well, we brought the trainer into the living room...I put the painting tarp under my bike (good thing too, didn't know so much greasy crud came off that thing during a ride!).  It was nice to be in the house on the tainer for warmth, help adjusting the tension, my husband got me a snack mid way through the ride when I was fading fast and kept an eye on the water bottles too.

I have to clean up the kitchen and bake some cookies for home group tonight...Oh, LD made a visit to my house...got some swiss rolls and oatmeal cream cookies for the girls--they didn't even get into them yet!

Jen, what is a squid?  I do a small amount of crocheting (am so far behind on projects that I'll never catch up, I think BT and training use most of my non work time) but I've never heard of a squid that wasn't in the ocean somewhere --or at least on a plate being eaten...

Thanks for all the welcoming!

Anyone doing anything interesting? I'm working on my knitting project - knitting a squid.

Um. A squid? I think I'm confused.... (Hi Nibbs!)

Here's an example of the one I'm working on:

squid

Oh wow! That's really cute!

(And it IS a squid!)

That sounds cool. I only every knit scarves.

This is my first not-scarf project. It wasn't so bad until I had to knit with double-pointed needles. Apparently that requires 4 needles. It's a little craziness.

Very cool. What made you decide on a squid?

I found the project and it wasn't too challenging for my level. Plus, one of my cats plays with a stuffed octopus, so I wanted to make a squid for our new kitten to play with.

Makes sense - the cat has an octopus, so the kitten gets a squid.

Nice bike ride today! You did TWO hours???? Whew.

LD ROCKS! I don't have any here though. Keebler paid a visit instead.

Break out the hot chocolate -- the snow is here!

Jen,

That is really cute!  Mocha would love that thing, he has a 'thing' for toys with multiple legs.  Oscar likes the ball with a bell in it (but he's so fat he hardly plays with it), Copy...she just wants a lap or a fire to curl up

Comeandgetit loves tennis balls.

He's going to love the snow, too.

Dee,

I had to do 2 hrs on the trainer, there was NO green on my chart this week and since green is my favorite color I just HAD to get some there (even if it meant getting on my bike which is still something of a chore)  Yeah, it was hard on my tuckus--even with bike shorts and a split seat.

There's no green on my chart either. (Probably because it's set to TIME and I record everything by DISTANCE. I should probably change that, huh? LOL)

Oh bummer. There's no way to change it.

I like recording by distance rather than time.... (Probably because I'm so slow? LOL)

I count both time and distance...only post the calculated pace if I like what I see.  Otherwise the interested viewer can take the time to do the math (ooh, is that my inside voice?)

No, I'm assuming they will decide it isn't worth the effort and leave my slow times alone

LOL - good point....

37 miles / 2.14 hours = 17.3 mph.

I like math. LOL

And your speed is not bad!

Southerners are such wimps about snow...our plans got canned.  Let's see, I have 2 boxes of LD in the cupboard, bought other cookies for the kids and made a batch of chocolate chips for tonight (was getting them out of the oven when we got the call to cancel)...I better do some strength training to balance out the 2 chocolate chip cookies eaten   Which video...Biggest Loser strength training or No Equipment Necessary (with the monsterous pushups/squats/lunges)?
