Yanti,

After years of experimentation, my dear wife has developed perhaps the greatest pancake recipe in human history.  Alas, I am at work and the recipe is at home.  I will post it later today, assuming I remember to do so.  You will need buttermilk and sour cream.  I tell you this only because you will want to make this recipe the moment you get it.  Once you eat these pancakes, you will never eat pancakes out of a box again, and you may eschew all non-pancake meals for the rest of your life, subsisting on a pancake only diet.

Yes, they are that good.

Still waiting....

Asalzwed - 2012-09-05 12:05 PM I don't really have anything to contribute other than to encourage experimentation along with pictures.

What I wouldn't give for pictures of Yanti's (college) experimentations.

How did it go, Yanti?

Our household pancake trick -- using Aunt Jemima mix, replace 1/2 the milk required with vanilla yogurt. Mix, and let sit for 10 minutes. Makes the most amazing pancakes. I require blueberries, but plain works, too.

alburyscott - 2012-09-07 6:32 AM So, breakfast dilemma today is?????

Whether or not to call McDonald's for delivery pancakes.

They're actually very good.

I just threw up in my mouth, a little bit.

I haven't been at the golden arches in over a year.

Although it appears that the ingredients in their hotcakes actually contain FOOD.

Hotcakes

Water, enriched flour (wheat flour, niacin, reduced iron, thiamin mononitrate, riboflavin, folic acid), whey powder, yellow corn flour, soybean oil, sugar, whole eggs, contains 2% or less of the following: leavening (sodium bicarbonate, sodium aluminum phosphate, monocalcium phosphate), dextrose, egg whites, emulsifier (monoanddiglycerides, propylene glycol monoester, sodium stearoyl lactylate), salt, artificial flavor, xanthan gum, beta carotene (color), soy lecithin (processing aid).

Pffffttt! Heck with determining what is what... just find a huge bowl, mix it all together, add water, milk, eggs, oil, butter and perhaps some of that taco seasoning. Throw in a huge pan and cook until something blows up. I'm sure the inhabitants of the funny farm will have no trouble helping you lick the exploded batter off the floor, walls, cabinets, ceiling, etc.

Dang... now I want pancakes for supper. Geez!

I like your style.

I ran out of stove gas the other day, so I was considering baking the pancakes in my small electrical toaster oven, except I had a weird feeling ^^^^^that would happen.

I'm just going to wait 20min until 6am and order pancakes delivered from McDonald's, as usual.

Their pancakes here are AWESOME ... fluffy, not rubbery, and all a little different size and color so while the batter is stock they're still made by hand on a grill. Good enough to eat plain!

I now have a mental picture of you covered in pancake batter. Along with the ever present mental picture of you on your trainer.

Thank you, work today just got that much better

I will add that as a vegan, I've made perfectly scrumptious pancakes from mixes without using anything except some soy milk and a tablespoon or two of oil. You actually don't need eggs for them to stick together, honest.

Speaking of making pancakes with "other than called for" ingredients... has anyone made pancakes using almond milk? I have discovered this little gem and love the vanilla almond milk. It seems way thicker than cow milk though, would that make pancakes too dense or tough?

Oh... and we need pics of the pancasplosion.
