that sauteed cauliflower tastes pretty good (still don't like raw). And this after I was forced to concede that grilled brussel sprouts were not devil spawn.

I shudder to think what next I'll actually try and have to admit liking...

you had never tried sauteed cauliflower or grilled brussels sprouts before???

It's weird. I like them too but growing up as a kid I pretty much ate Nutella sandwiches and white rice only, ever. Ice cream, sometimes. AND LOOK HOW I TURNED OUT

Yea, that's not fun having to confess to your wife something that you like.  I still remember confessing that I liked Glee.  (Please don't judge)

Try those brussels sauteed in garlic and drizzled with a little lemon juice.  That'll make you wonder why you're not at confession once a day!

I could never eat brussels sprouts until I had them sauteed in bacon grease then simmered in chicken stock. YUM!

FoggyGoggles - 2011-03-18 12:20 PM Give mashed cauliflower a try sometime. Good option to mashed potatoes!

Yes, very yummy.  Especially if you add garlic and parmesan cheese

ajusf16 - 2011-03-16 12:34 PM collard greens and vinegar

Collard greens and apple cider vinegar, with brown sugar.   Okay maybe I saute some onions and bell peppers and stuff in there too, but basically it's the greens and vinegar with a hit of sweet.  yummm.

Grilled beets.

Chard.

Collard greens.

Roasted butternut squash.

We do the Brussels sprouts in bacon fat (with pieces of bacon) and walnuts. So delicious!

Mashed Turnips with some butter are a good alternative to mashed potatoes as well.

We've begun roasting Brussels Sprouts and haven't gone back: toss with EVOO, seasoned salt, onion powder and minced garlic. The loose outer leaves turn into awesome "chips".

This is how we trick our 4 and 2 year olds into eating it.
