Drum set and anything else of a percussive nature since I was about 12. Through the years lots of variety from Marching bands, symphonic bands, rock bands, church bands, percussion ensembles.

Piano from 4ys old to 18yrs old - weekly private lessons
Violin from 10yrs old to 18 yrs old - school orchestra
Choir/musicals in middle/high school - school choirs

My mother just last week had a moving truck move a piano from her house to mine and I'm elated! I haven't played since my senior year in high school (14 years ago?! when I solo'd a Mozart piano concerto with my high school orchestra accompanying - an incredible experience).

Last night I discovered I can still read music

flute and baritone/euphonium in high school. nothing really in college though I fooled around on a few different things. I am currently trying to teach myself Harmonica but the going is slow mostly because my wife and dogs hate me practicing

I can also whistle a mean tune to anything and everything - which my wife also dislikes but has at least gotten used to.

Trumpet is my main instrument (music major in college), but can fumble through anything without strings. Strings mess me up terribly (except bass).

Piano (through 4th grade piano, 5th grade stuff I only dabbled in)

Vocals (can sight-read to sing and do four-part harmony arrangements)

I flirted with the viola ... it did not flirt back.

We have been through the what sports you have played, which side do you sleep on and other more divulging questions.  How about something more creative.

What musical instrument have you or do you play. (not the radio)

I grew up playing the trombone in the HS marching and symphonic bands

Played 12 string guitar in college and still do (ah those hippie days)

play keyboard, mandolin, trumpet, and violin...and percussion of course.

how about you?

Wow, this is not where I expected this conversation to go but since I'm here, I've been playing the trombone for 32 years, majored in Music Ed in college, recently took up the Ukulele, play a little piano.

Yanti,

Do you know what the range of the viola is?...................................About 30 yards if you have a good arm!

I play guitar, but don't call myself a guitarist in the same way that someone who ran for the bus last week doesn't call himself an athlete.

What is a minor 2nd?

When 2 violists play in unison.

[I play the viola]

Bassoon. Also the saxophone, clarinet and flute. I took piano lessons for a few years, but I never really liked it very much.

My parents gave me a banjo for Christmas a couple of years ago. I haven't made much progress with it, sadly.

Wow what a talented group we are.  Maybe we should get our resident Band Leader to put something together and we can each play a part and somehow send it in where one of our computer geeks can put it together for an internet BT concert.

Oooh, like that giant choir/song that was created virtually--two of my friends are in it and their faces even flash for a moment. I forget what it's called, 4000 Voices or something? 40,000?

SteveyD had an idea for a BT band ... someone here even wrote a triathlon song, I think ... it's all fuzzy now, but that would be really fun.
