Pre-race routine:

Really didn't have a pre-race routine, something to work on. Ate a powerbar and drank accelerade on the drive to the race.
Event warmup:

Jog/Walk to hammer.six car and my car, back to the War Memorial and then to the start line.
Run
  • 33m 1s
  • 5 miles
  • 06m 36s  min/mile
Comments:

Had my pacer with me, hammer.six set a great pace and kept me from running too fast at the beginning. Need to warm-up a little better to get a faster start. Felt strong throughout. Hammer, let the old man win at the end by 1.2 seconds.
What would you do differently?:

Warm-up better, jog a mile before race.
Post race
Warm down:

Drank water ate Fazoli's sphagetti/breadstick. Went inside the War Memorial and talked to John. Had a great conversation with John. Very nice to meet someone from BT!!!! Awesome race for someone who has raced in a LOOOONG time!!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of warm-up. Had a great racer

Event comments:

Great time! Flat course for the most part. Felt really strong Mile splits were fantastic. Last 4 miles were very evenly paced, thanks John!
Look forward to racing next week. I'm ready to break 20 minutes in a 5K!!

Awesome run!  It's great to meet BT folks at the races, isn't it?

Your training looks great, you should be able to hit sub-20 minutes with no problem...
