Subject: RE: Yanti & Salty MAD MANATEES Part 2 -- Full Pod It was a slightly busy day today--normal kind of work stuff, but there were some nifty additions too! --I got to catch some basilisks (very skittish, fast lizards) that I have trained(?) to allow me to simply pick them up, this is twice that the lizards have allowed me to do this! --I have 35 baby California Tiger Salamanders in quarantine in the zoo's vet hospital(SOP--when new animals arrive, they get a minimum 30 day quarantine), and today I was able to get 17 of them to eat! One tried to eat my thumb! --A coworker and I collaborated on a paper regarding a tortoises' medical treatment (it involved a skateboard-like cart)---the paper was published in a nation-wide zookeeping journal! --I did yet another OWS tonight with some of my awesome tri club friends! Tonight it was 600 meters or so...good times! Tomorrow I can look forward to station-training some African Spur-Thighed Tortoises, trying to feed the salamanders more/again, and moving a rattlesnake into a new exhibit; followed by a run and a bbq with my crazy coworkers. |
