This thread kills me!  I've only done one sprint, but I was in a hotel pool tonight with my son.  He was asking me something about my tri training (he's trying to learn to swim and do a kid version  next year), and someone overheard and asked if I did triathlons.  My son proudly says yeah, my dad does triathlons.  So the stranger replies - I think doing Ironman is amazing.  I could only smile and agree - doing Ironman IS amazing!!  Good luck Trish!

Dang it! I can't read any of this thread..I have an Ironman Hawaii finisher medal stuck in each eye. Could someone call me and tell me what it says? Oh wait, nevermind. You'll never guess what's stuck in my ear...

by the way, trishie, I need a quickie recap on Cozumel as soon as you're done. On the fence.

It's now almost 2-1/2 months past since I did my Ironman.  I take it I surpassed the statutes of limitations?

I'm signed up for IMFL 2010 (yes, my first...I am a total newbie at IM!) and my darling neighbor directed me to this thread...I hope she's not steamed when I knock on the door to say I'm too busy to talk! :-)

This is too funny!

Thanks for posting it Trish, and good luck in Cozumel!

As your darling neighbor, I would be steamed, but so darn proud of you that I'd let it slide.  Of course, you would have to try and buy my love back after this madness has worn off.  What did the posting say, 141 days after (I'll mark it on my calendar and let you know the date).

Not at all - you've just been recovering.  After all, you did an Ironman.

LMAO! Gotta get me one of those. I assume that comes on a muscle shirt that will allow me to show of my ginormous shoulders and delts that I've gotten from all the triathlon training I've been doing, right?

IMKY 2010.  Im just wondering everyday where to put the tatoo..so I can brag about it!

I put mine on the back of my left calf. That way every passing car can see when I'm on the bike. But, if you get lazy and chubby (me), then you do feel kinda silly with an IM tattoo.

I like that shirt and I would agree with it, as it is crazy to do a marathon.  I don't think I could do it after that bike!  I did have a parent from the kid's school approach me in a parking lot and ask me if I did IMWI - I responded "no, that was my husband, I am training for a marathon".  I got the "oh" spoken like - whoop dee doo!

Marathons are their own challenge and they are "harder" to actually race than even an IM to me (and many others - we had a thread on it a few months ago).  But it is definitely bragging rights to claim an iron distance finish!
