Subject: RE: Carlsbad Half MarathonHahaa... Same here. I got to about mile 11 and all of a sudden thought I might loose my cookies right there for some reason. Figured it might be a bit embarrassing, but I wasn't about to slow down for it.
Finished much better than my goal time with a 1:44:59. My previous long runs have always been done at high 9, low 10 minute mile pace, so I was beyond thrilled to come in averaging a 7:54 mile. I guess the LSD runs, plus some intervals do really translate to significantly faster race times. I thank my coach (Mike Plumb ) for this.
The course was also slightly longer than a normal 1/2 at 13.3 miles, so the calculated pace time on their results sheet is incorrect. This has been confirmed by several other people also using GPS's.
Will be doing it again in 2 weeks at the Surf City 1/2. Can't wait! |
