Yesterday I got a great deal on a Profile aerobars/bottle combo (paid around $100). Minutes after leaving the store, I went back to ask where the top on the aerobottle was!

The guy at the shop had to make a great effort not to burst into laughter. I know it wasn't my broken English since he, like almost everyone else in Miami, spoke Spanish.

I've never had a water bottle come with instructions. Do these bottles really work? I can't wait to return from holidays to find out.

Felix

Felix,

Too funny! Thanks for sharing your story, I admit I giggled! :-) No experience with aerobottles myself, but have fun with yours!

I have one, trained with it and used it in a couple of races. I still want to know where the top is. That yellow netting has to be the worst possible solution, it hardly slowa the liquid down on it's way to soaking my handlebars and my face.

I'll second what bear says...the yellow netting is pretty useless in stopping the fluid from sloshing around and splashing all over everything. Best tip if you are going to use it is to only use plain water and not energy drinks. Otherwise you will find your hands, handlebars, brake levers all coated with a sticky mess. I've heard of some creative suggestions about some people who have stretched a latex membrane over the top and fastened it with elastic, cutting a slit in it for the straw. I'm keeping mine for water use, but it does really seem to be a poor design.
