Who is ready for Azalea? I'm not, but I'm still excited. As long as I don't get too sick between now and then I'll be happy. Warm weather would be nice.

Good luck to those racing this weekend in the Azalea triathlon. Looks like they made some changes for the good on the bike course.

I'm number 514, swim start at 10:35:15.

My age group's awards will be handed out before I start. That's fine for me because I'm BOP, but what about a super fast cyclist and runner who entered the wrong swim time or is just fast enough to over come a 3 minute deficit?

Did they change the course so that you can avoid those darn speed bumps that we ran over last year?

Good luck to those who were lucky enough to jump on the registration and get into the race.  I'll be with you all in spirit on race day, cheering you on!

I participated in this tri on Saturday. The swim went well, but I crashed on the bike race. I was knocked out briefly and now don't remember how/why I crashed. It took place right after the corner of Riegel Rd and Rose Ave. I ended up in some guy's driveway. The EMTs came and carted me off to the hospital. I was number 488, with a white and blue shirt. If anyone saw what stupid thing I did, I would be grateful for a contact.

This was a well managed race and I'm regretful at not being able to finish. I'll be back; I have a year to heal.

Sorry that happened to you and I hope you are okay now. I was number 514, bt the time I saw you, you were sitting up with your back to the course. The volunteers were calling out to us that a rider was down.

You may have slid on some loose gravel or sand. Or you might have taken the turn to wide and hit something on the other side of the road. I almost did this on a later turn.

Hope you are ready to continue your season.

This actually happened to me last year. 1st and 2nd place in my AG had swim times of 5:30 and 5:28. The original 3rd place had a swim time of 5:48. I came out of the water at 7:54 and ended up with 3rd in my AG by 5 seconds. Awards were a sweatshirt. I got one which they ordered for me because I needed a small and they didn't have any. I don't know if the other lady got one or not.

Thank you for taking the time to share your observations. I'm beginning to think that between the wind gusts, wet roads and gravel, I now have a good excuse for falling. I am home now with 4 broken ribs and broken clavicle. That ought to teach me to pay better attention to the course next year. I will be a long time healing, but I'll get back slowly. This is too much fun for me to stay away.
