Comments: I was fairly certain I could PR in this race. I started out a bit quicker than I anticipated so I backed off in mile 2 & 3. I wanted to leave enough in the reserve for a strong kick at the end. I knew I was pushing it but physically I felt pretty good. By mile 5, I was a bit winded and running above LT. I picked it up a bit and held on, hoping to not blow up before the finish line. Still a PR by a long shot so it was a good race. What would you do differently?: A bit more track work or start in the front Post race
Warm down: I was greeted by the NAMSC crew at the finish line. I hung back and chatted for a while before splitting What limited your ability to perform faster: Not much. Starting in the back (10 deep). Event comments: Good race. I would like to see more water stops and volunteers on the course. Last updated: 2008-02-29 12:00 AM

Nothing much. I had a big swim the night before so I focused on getting hydrated. I woke up at 5:30, had a banana and some cytomax. I was out the door by 6:15
I hung back in my car for a while to stay warm. About 30 minutes prior I popped a gel and went through my stretching routine. The legs were feeling good...not great during warmups. I caught up with Jonathan22 and chatted a while.
