Hey, hey, hey! Who else is doing the Quarter? I did this race last year as my first oly, and I am SO looking forward to doing it again and improving on my time. Here's hoping for less wind than last year, too!

I'm in, it'll be my first of this distance and second race ever. I'm mostly nervous about the winds!

This will be my first race of the year (and my first ocean swim and first wetsuit swim).

BTW,

My family backed out of the weekend, so if anyone wants to car pool let me know (live in Mansfield). I'll be driving down Friday mid-morning and returning Sunday.

I also have three extra passes to the pasta dinner and attractions for Saturday. If anyone has a need let me know

Yeah, I'm hoping that the winds won't be as strong as last year. Can I put in my request now for sunny skies and just a very gentle seabreeze?

I'm there for the quarter, and David is doing the half.  Looking forward to it!  I am voting for none of those winds OR that deluge from the Sprint last year!

Good luck - I would say you will not see the rain or is that what you call it when it is that heavy?  The wind - well you only have 13 miles with it in your face the next 13 - wewwww

I affectionately call it a rain bomb.....
That was a RECORD for the most rainfall in a 2 hr period in Galveston. 5.5 inches in 2 hrs....

I don't want to jinx it, but I'm hopeful we won't have rains that hard again....

Hopefully, no wind...But, it's the coast

I'm in for the Quarter. I did the Sprint last year I started the run during the initial down pour. No need for the sunglasses. Keith put on a hell of a race and I knew I was going to be out to Lonestar again. Still haven't been able to get a bike jersey for this race I swear they are sold out before they go on sale.

I believe USAT rules state that the rope has to be at least 3 bike lengths long.

I suppose I can live with that.
