I thought this was about the Car. Now I know why the box was so small when I got my Javelin, and the engine is VERY VERY underpowered.

Man, I would love to rock a Javelin or an AMX...or the Javelin AMX, even.

Well, I got my Sizzano and put it together. Of course, the aerobars are too short. Apparently, my arms are extremely long because I looked up the size I needed, and it was the largest they make. So if anyone wants to buy the aerobars, they are new, would have the bar tape still on them and everything. They are Oval Concepts A700 Alloy Triple Bend extensions: http://www.ovalconcepts.com/productsGenereDett.php?idGenere=1&i... guess the only aerobar extensions that are long enough for my arms are the adjustable Profile Designs, or the largest (290 mm) VisionTech TT clip ons. I have some 250mm Visiontech extensions; I bought them not knowing what size I needed. So, if anyone has any extensions that would work or anyone wants the Oval Concepts off my Sizzano, send a PM this way.

I'm disappointed that I didn't know about this until a few days ago, I would have liked to get a Varese.  Still, the Sizzano should suit me well and I'll be buying one tomorrow! Though if someone has a 51cm Varese that they want to get rid of, I would be glad to take it of their hands for the closeout price...

Well, i was real happy to discover this thread, after stumbling across Javelin bikes on ebay. I was already a board member (my 1st tri is in late August), but I did not think to check these forums for reviews.

I've already looked around a bit at women's road bikes, but anything halfway decent started at about $800, and had far lesser components than the Javelins. My original plan was to use one of my husband's older road bikes, but it was just too big.

When I called Javelin today, there were still some tri bikes left, but only the Narni in my 51cm size. I talked about it with my husband for a while, and basically decided it was a no brainer. Even if I end up hating tri's (not really probable, since I like all 3 sports but don't excel in any one), I am certain to be able to sell it for what I paid for it. But it just looks and sounds so great, I am very excited.

Hope it arrives by Friday for my birthday!

The only tri bike they had left in 51 was the Narni?  If so, they still had "A handful of Sizzanos" when I called earlier today and I was planning on getting one tomorrow...  If they sold out I'm gonna be a little annoyed, as I shouldn't really spend $800 on a bike being the broke college student I am.

That's odd, cause about a month ago, they only had Sizzano's left in 51... But, it wouldn't be the first time they found a few more boxes in the warehouse.

Bought mine this morning!  If you were thinking of acting on this, they said that they had 1 Sizzano left and 2 Narnis left.

Sorry, I should have qualified that. Because of the difference in geometry, I would have needed the 47 on the Sizzano. The Narni has a much shorter top stem, and the 51 is right for me.

Congrats on your bike purchase Victoro!  I'm sure you are as antsy as me to get it delivered. Curses on holiday weeks!

I ordered a Narni on Monday. I spoke to Geoff at Javelin, he was very helpful and he said it would be 3-5 days, but it already arrived today. I cannot wait to get it built - it looks great! I think for $800 it's a steal!

I just want to echo praise for the Javelin Varese. I love my bike. It's fast, comfortable, and it's mine. I'll be riding it in my first Oly next month.

i finally got my Verese and put about 40 miles on her so far. Put some Cervelo-esque upgrades on her (HAD to get rid of that Oval aerobar--will be selling it here soon!). Will put up pictures soon of the new 'Jave-lero.'

Everyone else happy with theirs? Anyone put upgrades into theirs too?

What'd you put on instead? That's the one thing I'm really thinking I need to upgrade on my sizzano. Those aerobars just feel too short for me, and I'm constantly bending my wrists in funny ways.

I pretty much changed out the entire Oval aerobar one-piece and put on a Cervelo stock-bar and Vision extensions for the aerobars. I'll try to post pictures a little later. It's really comfortable, but I am still fidgeting with the height of the elbow pads. This new ride is way more agressive then my Fuji Aloha 2.0. I guess when you get rid of the drop bars, that happens. I like it...it will take getting use to though.

I'm not wild about the Oval aerobar either - it's too long for my female arms. Do you have a picture of the replacement bar?

BTW, my Narni is just the coolest bike. Am taking it to get fitted tomorrow, and may look into switching out that Oval). My husband put it together today. It is so light, I can't believe it. And the wheels are awesome. I don't feel worthy of it yet!

Just got my new Narni fit and took it out for a ride and in the middle of the ride i started having trouble shifting. Its too bad because i was loving the bike. I took a look at the bike tonight and found that the metal tab which the front derailleur bolts to has a big crack in it. I don't know how to post a picture.

Is this normal? I am not sure how i should go about getting it fixed? I sent javelin an email tonight but i figured they will not answer till monday.

I appreciate any information or ideas you might have.

Big Sam

Do you mean Varese? Narni's aren't white.

Either way, I feel like someone else had this problem. Call up Javelin if they don't respond and tell them what has happened and hopefully they'll get you some kind of replacement. I would think they'd replace the frame, as I think it would be time consuming and inconvenient to weld on a new derailluer hanger.

I went into the tri store this weekend and ended up switching out the entire handlebar setup. The guy helping me called the Oval A700 bars "a mistake" and said they would be a difficult bar for anyone to ride with. He wasn't too encouraging about what I could get for the setup on ebay or craigslist, but we'll see.

I now will have a handlebar setup that will be much more comfortable for me. The bars will be up higher, the pads are in a better place and everything about the setup just makes so much more sense for my body. I have very long legs and a short torso (the opposite of most male riders), so the Oval was a bad choice for me, since even at their shortest setting, I could not reach the end of the bars.

I also got a slightly taller stem to increase the height of the bars. I'm still in a fairly aerodynamic position (they fit with video cameras at this shop), just not bent over like a hairpin. I know I will have much better control of the bike as well. My husband took the Javelin out on our road with the Oval bars, right after he assembled it, and he nearly fell over. He said he felt like it was impossible to balance with those bars.

Hello Javelin folks.  I bought a 54 Varese and really need a 51.  If anyone has a 51 they would like to sell,  please send me a PM.

A cross post from another thread but why not......

My blue Narni ready for a fitting, a name, and her 1st Tri in about 3 weeks. The bike is way sharper than the pic gives credit.

That's odd. That looks like some weird cross between a narni and a sizzano. Aerobars look like the oval clip-ons, not the ones that the narni has, but the wheels are the narni wheels.

Narni:
