Anyone know when the registration starts for this?

As I live 8 minutes from the starting line at Fort Buckner, it would be a sin if I missed this race and I hear the race fills up quickly.  I've been checking the USMA Tri-club website but all they have is last year's race info.

Or let me ask it this way, anyone who did it last year - do you remember when the sign-up began?

No and sprints aren't really my thing anymore. But I've always been enamored with West Point and have wanted to do this one for years. It's just never fit into my schedule. I think it will be a great post IMLP motivator for me.

Keep me posted. I'd really like to join you this year.

will do.

For me, this year, this is my second and last planned race as I'm hitting Half Mary about 2 weeks post WP and then looking for some Marathon running into the fall.

Last night around 5 p.m., event not even listed on active.com

This morning at 8:30, event listed, registration closed.  W! T! F!

Anyone get in?  Did I miss something here?

Just curious - I've got an email into the race director about this - but curious if other people were able to register already?

From Active.com today:

>>>Registration opening soon.
Registration for the 19th Annual West Point Triathlon has not opened yet.<<<

Reg hasn't opened yet. I did the Sprint last year and had a blast. Registration was open for several weeks before getting closed out.

I'm so concentrated on bike racing this year that I'm not hitting Westpoint and may even skip Timberman for which I'm already registered...

I have done this race 3 times.  It is well organized (except last years swim when the buoys let go and drifted in).

Registration usually opens up sometime in April.  I wanted to do Timberman and Westpoint last year but they were both on the same day.

I did Montauk 1/2 Ironman instead of timberman.

800 meter swim which is a bit long compared to most sprints, 25K bike and 5 K run.

Good Luck.    Check out the westpoint Triathlon team webpage they sponsor the race and usually have info on when registration begins.

I'll probably run it again if I survive IMLP in July, HA!

Received the following email today:

Registration has yet to open.

The event staff summary sheet, OPORD and draft risk assessment are currently awaiting garrison command approval. I hope the garrison commander approves the event NLT the end of this week.

FYI - We're about a month behind because of a change to the CDT summer training schedule made public last month. That really caught us off guard.

As a consequence we've had to adjust numerous things to put us in a position to pull this event off. The most difficult was finding a replacement timing company. Without one we'd of been dead in the water.

Hope that helps.

Ralph

Got an e-mail stating they are at  76% capacity. If you're interested, now's the time. It usually sells out.
