I would like to join in too if I can. I have 2 sprints scheduled for this summer - my first!! I currently weigh 174 and would like to get down to around 150. I started at 288 about 2 years ago, so I have come far, but I still have a little way to go and could really use the support and help of everyone! I think this will really be a great help.

Over 100lb! Holy crap. Incredible.

AAWW, thanks! Actually, I started out in a rather odd way. I was in a car accident a few years ago, and after months, was still experiencing neck and back pain. My doctor decided to send me to PT and the place closest to my house was one of the local gyms. Anyway, I started going for PT and found that I really liked it, and it made me feel GOOD! So, after my PT was done, I joined the gym and have been going ever since. Don't get me wrong - there have been a lot of ups and downs - both emotionally and with my weight. But I now feel like this is a new life for me and I am loving all the experiences. I am super excited to be doing tris this year. It is definitely something that I never thought I would be able to try. I may not be the best or the fastest, but I am out there working my behind off just like everyone else.

I won't make it to the gym after work to weigh in, so I will have to wait until tomorrow to post my current weight. I am so glad for this thread!!

I know that logging my food has made a huge difference...The hunger I had the first week in between meals is subsiding.  Clothes fitting more loosely.  I appreciate all of you and your encouragement!

Little tid bit for a recipe try...My wife does talapia in a dish in the microwave for about 3-5 minutes with some Tony's and some pepper.  Micro some frozen asparagus with the same seasoning and a piece of 7 grain or whole wheat bread, and you're good to go...This is one of my favorites, but I'm a big seafood person.  Might try the same with whole wheat tortilla and salsa for a fish taco...If you like try it and tell me what you think...

Help!! I am confused about how many calories I should be taking in. I weigh - 128, 25% body fat - RHR - 51-59. How many calories should I be eating... estimate anyone?

I have heard body weight x's 10
128 x 10 = 1,280 does that sound right?

Usually, around 10cals/lb of bodyweight if you're cutting fat. You'll have to adjust that upwards a little bit if you're doing a lot of cardio (like training for a tri). I'd say you're safe at 10 or 11 cals/lb, though.
