Subject: Heads Up There's going to be a period of heightened rules enforcement 'round these parts for a while. Too many posts dancing on the edge of acceptability, too much snarkiness etc. We don't want to see a precedent set for what's acceptable so we're going to be pulling in the reins a bit.
Personally, I attribute this to some pent up desire for people to get outside. It's taking a bit longer than usual up north for the winter to well and truly LEAVE and then you mix that with what seems to be a large number of late season colds/flu making the rounds and cabin fever set in. People want to get outside and TRAIN. I know I do. So, having said that, the mods are going to be a bit quicker on the trigger.
Not sure if want you want to post is acceptable?
Err on the side of caution. Don't post it.
Read something that clearly shouldn't be here? Don't take it upon yourself to point it out. Notify a moderator. That's what we're here for. We appreciate any and all notices of inappropriate posts. The fact is we can't read them all and we rely on people to let us know when something is posted that doesn't belong here.
Read an opinion that you don't agree with? Don't take it personally and don't consider it your duty to correct someone for being what you consider to be wrong. This isn't the place.
Here's a very good general guideline to use when replying to something: Post about the content, not the person. Posts criticizing other people on the board will be pulled and the poster warned.
The bar is being set very low here. Repeat offenses will result in temporary bans. I'm more than willing to hand out a few 48 hour or 1 week bans if they're warranted. If one or three people end up taking their ball and going home because they're made to play by the rules, that's ok with me. It'll give me more time to code.
