Pre-race routine:

1/4 bagel followed by one bottle of ensure at about 1:45 from race time. The hour leading up to the race i drank Cytomax fast twitch.

Pool swim. I don't know what happened. I totally threw out my technique and i was just splashing through the water. I was practically drowning. I should have easily been about to do 6:30 or so. I really don't know what happened. I watch the video my wife took and i had no form and i was doing some really weird breathing. Oh well, at least only 2 people passed me.
What would you do differently?:

Relax and remember that you go much faster when you use good form and not try to blast through the water.

Really long run from the pool to transition. I ran pretty fast, but i had huge problems getting my shirt on. It got stuck on my back and rolled up and i probably wasted 1:10 getting that on. Then i ran out with my bike and i couldn't get clipped in. I probably wasted another good 20 seconds there.
What would you do differently?:

Get a shirt that i can wear during the swim. Practice leaving shoes in the clips.

Good bike leg. The wind slowed the back portion of the course. I was alone for about 2 miles on the way back and kind of got in a lull and almost was racing like it was my HIM. Until someone zoomed past me and i realized i wasn't pushing near hard enough. I picked it up after that. So i could have cut another minute or 2 off for sure.
What would you do differently?:

Not used to short races so i need to push harder.

Carried my spare tube and CO2 in my jersey. I didn't want to run with it, so i screwed around for 30s trying to pull it all out.
What would you do differently?:

Don't ride with tube in jersey unless it is in a box.

Didn't push all that hard because i knew i wasn't going to break an hour. My stomach did start to cramp a little in the end.
