What would you do differently?:

changed stroke to protect shoulder, need to now increase speed.

transition time added to swim time, LONG run out of the water to the end of transition area, feet sore, good change out of wetsuit, ran with bike, stopped outside transition to put feet in pedals.

nothing

My last 3 races I was terrible on the bike. I am happy with the improvement I made.

Comments:

a little slower than my target but I didn't plan on that wash.

more time trail running
Post race
Warm down:

walk with a little stretching.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

swim which is good because it is usually the bike.

Event comments:

This was my first Olympic distance. I felt like the talent of athletes was far better than I had seen before. Maybe because of the longer distance or maybe because it was a Nationals Qualifier. I was happy with my day.

Great performance! - I only hope to break three hours in a Oly this year!

The wash sucked, huh?  Water was a little chilly too.

I looked for you out there (we haven't met but I was looking for the 6'8" guy).  Congrats on the Half Iron.  I am still scared of the distance but hope to tackle it someday.  That wash sucked!  I felt like I was running in slow motion.  You guys got hammered by the wind didn't you?  I saw that you had great swim!  I need work there, I wish I could blame it on the cold water.  All in all a good day though.

The wind was fine during the bike - no real problems and I didn't notice it.  It got a little bothersome on the run, but still not too bad!
