Just wondering what the big differences are between a 15m pool vs a 25m. My gym has the short one and a daycare so many times i am forced to swim there. One mile is like 110 laps. When I can (once every ten days) I swim at the college in their 25m pool with a masters group. Just wondering what the workout differences are. Easier or harder?

Easier in a small pool because you have a chance to stop quick(swim tot he wall grab and turn around), or if you are good at flipturns you can coast far without having to swim.

With a 15m pool there's not enough length for me to focus completely on my stroke. I think I'd also get dizzy from turning so often. However if I have to choose between not swimming and using the shorter pool - I'd certainly use the shorter length.

I swim at my local gym in a 20m pool and at the local leisure centre in a 25m pool. Don't know about easy versus hard workouts, no real difference, but my 100m splits are lower in the 25m pool. Not sure why. If I had to guess its because there are less turns, but I would have thought the push off would compensate for this.

What a timely question because I've been thinking about this too. I swim in a lot of different pools because I travel for work. In the past month, I've swam in 15M, 20M and 25M. I feel like they're a completely different workout, the most beneficial coming from the longer pools. The longers ones let me get into more of a rhythm, which I think adds to my muscle memory. With the short pools it seems like just after a couple of good strokes you're already worried about turining around again. So, I'm sure that, aerobically, the workouts are about the same, but as far as technique gains and becoming an overall better swimmer, I wish I always had access to a long pool.

The pool I swim in just switched from the 25 yrd to 50m and I see slower times and I think it has taken me a little bit to get use to training. I think (hope) the longer distance will prove out to be closer to real times and better performance in the races.

The local aquatic center sometimes has long pool (50yd.) hours in the summer.  I like it because it's more like what we do in a race.  Judging from the number of 'how do you count laps' threads, it would seem like the longer the pool, the more mental stability we can have as we stagger out of the water.
