another possible incentive for the race/alternative to the semi-traditional post race fast food binge ...

My parents live in Santa Barbara (about 15 minutes north of Carp) and they have volunteered to have a little post-race bbq (tri tip, ceasar salad, garlic bread, etc, my mom's a good cook, I promise) and you are all invited!  So just give me a heads up if you would like to come and I can shoot you the details.

Sounds like another awesome opportunity to hang out with the cool kids; thanks Faeron

I am probably going to be a bit scarce up in Carp. I have a good friend (Lives in Carp) who is not doing so well (He just finished up Chemo and Radiation) and I think we are going to lunch on Sunday. (Hopefully at Esau's )

I will definitely catch up with everyone in the transition area and out on the course

I understand ditching us for Esau's , they used to have one in SB on state street and my parents and I used to go when I was little.  Maybe we can all do a pre-race lunch?  People are welcome to head to my place for dinner too.

I might be in for this one, it's still a bit up in the air. I signed up a while back to do it as moral support for a really good friend of mine growing up who was going to do it, but now he just dropped out due to scheduling conflicts (has to move apartments that weekend). Now I'm not so sure if I want to drive all the way up there, plus I was planning on staying with some friends of his who live in the area, which would now be kind of weird seeing as he isn't going... Erg, kind of pissed he dropped out. I also haven't been swimming in about a month now and a 1500m swim sounds a bit scary at the moment. I also have the Mission Bay Triathlon the next weekend. I will also be freshly back form a trip to Vegas for Interbike... Eghh, so many things!

I registered late and was wait-listed for this race (Sprint, not Olympic). Good news- I got in! I'll be heading up Saturday afternoon with my girlfriend and a buddy from the LA Tri club. I've heard good things, so my expectations are high...

I waited too long to get in on this race, and I live in Carp.

Hope ya'll had fun. I ride the route 99% of the time around here so I could have been a decent resource had I been on much lately. Next year I will do this as my last tri.
