Safari Help

Hi there. 

Safari doesn't seem to want to let me use the buttons when I log -- 'insert image', 'hyperlink', 'horizontal bar', etc. I click, nothing happens. Is there a setting I need to update, or is this just one of those 'Sucks to be a Safari user, go back and keep using your work PC for procrastination/BT logging" kind of things?
