I'd rather die a healthy fit person

Living life like a slug has no appeal to me.

I've seen on tv that some people try to eat a lot less than normal in order to lower their metabolism, thereby limiting the number of free radicals their bodies make and extending their lives.  Seems like a painful way to live.  I think there is something to be said for resting when it's appropriate, keeping stress down and the effect of free radicals but advising people to stay on the couch is ridiculous!

Berlin - Scientists in Germany have found that too much exercise is bad for you and that doing less could lengthen your life.

Brought to you from the land of bratwurst and beer...

They leave out the part about "quality of life."

Maybe its the baby boomer in me, but I say FREE THE RADICALS!

The study's author left out one minor detail - when you live like that, you can't eat!  No peanut butter.  I need my peanut butter.

If you sit perfectly still, and breathe very slowly, and eat 300 calories per day, and never have sex (that's another part of that ultra-low-calorie study, you know...celibacy extends your life), you will live to be 150.

I just want to know: why bother??

Actually, you only live to be 75. It just *feels* like 150.

I for one dont understand that, but one thing i was thinking is how are they going to feel emotionally? I mean all the lazy people i know arent really the happiest people.... i think people who are active live happier and more fufilling lives. i mean i was lazy for a long time and i felt like crap, now that i am back in training and racing i feel soooooooooo much better physcially and emotionally. yay for endorphins!!!!
