Comments:

The swim was the last segment and i really liked the swim here. The water was calm and little current. It was a very nice swim.

Comments:

T1 was actually coming in form the run and onto the bike

Comments:

I love the bike in this position, because i am so bad at the run, i passed a bunch of people on the bike and knew i was not anywhere near DFL
Transition 2
  • 02m 4s
Comments:

This was bike to swim
What would you do differently?:

I forgot my goggles, and swam without them - for 400m it is not that big a deal
Run
  • 40m 36s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 13m 04s  min/mile
Comments:

I started out with the gorup and looked at my watch and saw a 10minute pace - i knew i couldn't hold that so i puled up to 11:30 and the pack just took off ahead of me - i was dfl. It does not feel good to be there.I had a feeling some other people would be dropping back as hey probably got caught up in the herd pace. Sure enough by 1.5mile i had a little compay, but very little mayeb two or three people. I did as well as i should expect having done veery little training for this one.
What would you do differently?:

Train
Post race
Warm down:

Came out of the water and had some beverages and bananas

Event comments:

The postrce party was geld out on the lawn at naples beach hotel which is beautiful. They had a band and a full breakfast buffet done by the hotel - eggs, pancakes, bacon, all served on linens - i was impressed. Too bad i filled up on bananas and couldn't eat the good stuff.

I really enjoyed this race as it was not a complete ballbuster and i was able to enjoy the rest of the day
