New to the Tri thing .. I'm up in Eureka (Humboldt County).. was looking to see if there were any other insane people up here too :D... and no I don't grow any :P

Yes Owl_girl is part of a I think it is 6 rivers running club or some such in that area. You have spring and fall half and full mary on your door step at Avenue of the Giants.

I am North Eest of you ... quite a ways, but still in CA. I am remote in comparison to the relatively high population and number of services in your area 8).

I am thinking of doing my first full marathon out there this fall, but will have to wait and see how the training goes. I lost about 3-4 months due to illness the first part of this year.

Hi, I just signed up on here (beginnertriathlete.com).  I'm thinking of doing my first tri in October (down in Sacramento). I happen to be passing through the day it's taking place.  I'm thinking of joining Six Rivers Running Club, since running is not my strength.  Have you done any races?  Do you train on your own or with a group?

also in santa rosa. just decided i want to try for tri's

the october race in sac may be the 10/12/08 golden state triathlon. there is a sprint and a super sprint.
