Comments:

I have no idea on my splits, I wasn't going to sent my watch through the mud pit. I bike/ran/bike/ran/bike/ran; my partner the opposite. we ended up WELL matched, I passed her on the last leg about 100 yds from the finish. Leg one was a tough climb, I walked the bike up some of it, with runners passing me! egads, how demoralizing. But then reached the first obstacle, a 6 foot climbing wall, vaulted that and set off running after dousing self in water. The run was mostly downhill and a general breeze. next obstacle was a A-frame of bars to weave body over/under, again pretty simple. Hope had placed the bike JUST perfectly, I dropped from the obstacle and there it was waiting for me! Screamed down hill to the next obstacle - well rode the brakes behind some more timid riders who couldn't move right. That's OK, I was having fun! 3rd obstacle was a rope ladder to slide. more water and run to final balance beam. quick ride to mud pit.
Post race
Warm down:

energy drink. "shower" in cold hose water, change clothes at car, and off to drink beer. Had some crispy snappeas for snack.

Was great to "hang out" in a beer "garden" reliving my twenties - when was the last time this mom of two simply hung out to drink??

We cheered the DFL team through the mud!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

the temperature and training.

Congratulations!! Wasn't that first hill *killer* on the bike? Looks like you guys did great, though. And had a good time, which is the most important part.

It's too bad we couldn't catch up after the race, but I don't think I had a prayer of finding you among all the mud people and we skipped the beer garden (stupid long line).

ETA: It was great to meet you!! (I got so caught up in congratulating you that I forgot to say that. Hee.) We definitely need to meet up at more events, or even just try to train together every now and then.

That looked fun! I didn't have a partner for the race, and my wife was in Las Vegas. I was able to pawn the 3yr old twins off on grandma, and I took my 8yo and 5yo to do the Mini muddy buddy. I had to go with the 5 yo....it was a blast!!!
