Pre-race routine:

Woke up ate a small amount of frosted mini-wheats. Made some HydroBOOM! to sip on the way to the race. Took a CarbBOOM! 45min pre-race, forgot to take my 2nd one before the run.
Event warmup:

Did my ITBS stretching, some light jogging.
Run
  • 42m 35s
  • 4.97 miles
  • 08m 34s  min/mile
Comments:

My HR was sky high the entire run. I walked for 20s to bring it to 190 at one point. Overall I did pretty good. I enjoyed myself out there and god a workout in.
What would you do differently?:

Take a second gel, possibly wear lighter trail shoes.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around dripping sweat everywhere. Ate half a bagel, a banana some water. After the awards ceremony I walked to the car eating an apple.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat, humidity and the fact I gorged on pizza, hotdogs and italian beef the day before.

Event comments:

If I lived out here I would run the entire series for sure. A second drink station would have been nice just because it was so hot. Really nice t-shirt.
