Pre-race routine:

Up at 4:30. Ate toast with peanut butter and half a ClifBar. Packed the car and hit the road a little after 5. Made it to the event by 5:30.
Event warmup:

None. Big mistake. Need to do a short run, bike and swim beforehand.

Apparently my timing chip didn't work, so I really don't know how well I did. The swim was good, I felt much faster with the wetsuit on. Need to work on technique more, and learn to breath both sides eventually.
What would you do differently?:

Could've pushed a little bit harder. Need to learn to calm down at the start.

Pushed hard on the bike. New to being in the aero position, so my butt and hammys were bangin' at the end. Drank 3/4 of my water and about 1/2 of my Accelerade. Might need to lay off the Accelerade a bit as I had a queesy stomach toward the end. Maybe a bit too much water as well. Course was fast, but good.
What would you do differently?:

Drink a littler less, push a little harder. Need to strengthen my legs a bit more.

Should have put my Garmin strap on when I was on the bike. Put it on backward s the first time and had to redo it. Took too long, then didn't strap my Garmin right and it fell off in transition without me know it. Need to learn to run wihtout socks as well.
What would you do differently?:

Put Garmin strap on sooner and secure watch.

It started to get hot, so that hurt a bit. My legs felt truly awful after getting off the bike. Took a good mile for them to recover a bit. My breathing was off the charts as well. The run kinda sucked overall.
What would you do differently?:

Ease up on the bike toward the end, catch my breath. Figure thet watch situation out. Get faster.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked a bit, stretched much too late. Ate a banana and pounded water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Need to work on the run portion. More brick workouts.

Event comments:

Need to work on making sure everyone has a decent timing chip. It's disappointing I don't know my precise time.

Run sucked for me too.  I've seen 4 reports and 3 of us are a bit disappointed in how we did.  Lets get em next time.
