San Francisco, California
United States
80F / 27C
Sunny
Total Time = 00m
Overall Rank = 56/930
Age Group = 40-49
Age Group Rank = 14/95
Pre-race routine:

ate, drank, did the bathroom routine, and drove to AT&T stadium.
Event warmup:

easy jog to get the legs loose, then a few strides thrown in for good measure.
Run
  • 44m 50s
  • 6.22 miles
  • 07m 13s  min/mile
Comments:

This was a good run, but it was incredibly hot for SF. Easily 80+ degrees, and the sun was relentless. I paced myself well, though, and did about as well as anticipated. Under cooler conditions, I believe a sub 44:00 is attainable, if not sub 43:00.
What would you do differently?:

Not much. I paced myself well for the conditions and was happy to break 45:00.
Post race
Warm down:

Lots of water, stretching, and then food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The heat.

Event comments:

Nice job by the volunteers. Lots of good food and drink after the race, and finishing inside the stadium was a nice touch.

Man, you are so seriously fast. Great job with the heat. It was seriously weird yesterday, all super-hot in the morning and then way too cold by the afternoon.

OMG! It must have been 100degrees there. The industrial area from mile 4 or so on was no picnic either. A tough 2 mile finish, for sure.

Way to go speedy! Yeah, I'll bet it was toasty, esp. for us wimpy SF guys.  It must have been pretty cool being FOP for this race.  Great AG and OA finishes.
