Sunny
Total Time = 1h 20m 23s
Overall Rank = 24*23/95*68
Age Group = 35-39
Age Group Rank = 4/10
Pre-race routine:

Woke at 5:15. Dehydrated, one bottle before going down stairs. Short shower. 2 ensure, one pc toast w/ PB & J. Large cup coffee. One water bottle and then one acceleraid sip till almost 7:30. Long line for port a john. Out at 730, 10 min prior to trans closing.
Event warmup:

Walked around to view transition entry and exits. Slow jog (short). Streching in line. No real warmup
Swim
  • 06m 47s
  • 400 meters
  • 01m 42s / 100 meters
Comments:

TT start from dock. Reeled in one swimmer after another. Felt great but probably went too hard for longer distance. Navigation could not have been better

1 of 10 in age and 9 of 95 in swim 8 of 68 males
What would you do differently?:

Ease it up if the swim is longer. for this race it was about perfect. HR too high for longer swim, I would not be able to maintain!
Transition 1
  • 01m 25s
Comments:

Put shoes on in T1 because the exit for tran was grassy but not great. little slow getting race belt on because HR was still high! No socks, worked well
What would you do differently?:

Not much.
Bike
  • 47m 35s
  • 15.53 miles
  • 19.58 mile/hr
Comments:

Not enough calorie for longer distance. Only half bottle acceleraid and water w/ no shots. Longer race would need moor food and not as hard a ride. Passed by only 2 and passed 15+.
What would you do differently?:

Again not much very good ride. Work on the hills and getting spinning faster, comfort in the seat
Transition 2
  • 00m 35s
Comments:

Good T2 tried to dismount with shoes attached. Dont like it. Chain jumped off and had to carry the bike a little way.
What would you do differently?:

Try the shoe on dismount with only 1 velcro strapped next race.
Run
  • 24m 8s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 46s  min/mile
Comments:

Caught up with runners throughout last 2 w/in .5K remaining. Passed racer #11 and blew by him. He had bike issues (handlebars) but I still caught him on the run!
What would you do differently?:

Drink prior and in T2 and pushed harder on the course
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around. Water, banana,

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Physical condition. Drop weight so I don't have to carry it on the race!

Zorn is a little town a few miles south of San Marcos btwn San Antonio and Austin.  Swim was in a small private ski lake with the run btwn the lakes on the property.  Property is located at the intersection of TX 123 and 1101.  Not a bad little race.  Should grow if the producers continue to run it.
