Did well up the big hill at the lake. Walked briefly twice. Started feeling low energy at 2.5 miles. Popped my gel. Tough to eat on a dry mouth. around a mile later, half way up the hill, I started to feel it kick in.
What would you do differently?:

Warm down:

Stretch. Drank a bottle of water. Then found a beer and half a bagel.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

heat and speed work outs

Good race Mark.   That hill at 3 mile is tough!  And it was freaking hot!!
