Swim
Comments: I have got to remember to start at the front of all races I do now. Starting out I had to climb over a few people. I tried to swim in Schmize's wake but it was a little slower than I liked. So I passed him. I got out into some open water and tried to feel things out. In the second leg I got on some feet and rode with them until the turn into the 3rd leg where they dropped me like a bad habit. Wow. 3rd and 4rth leg I was on my own. During the forth leg I had a head on collision with someone going in the other direction. Ouch! I was trying out my first wetsuit made for swimming. This and all the sighting put some strain on my lower back. It was pretty sore after a while. I am used to doing flip turns and constantly stretching my back while swimming. In the forth leg I am trying to figure out where I can put the hammer down. I see the shore house so I figure now is a good time. Next thing ya know I see another bouy off in the distance. It was a little farther than I thought. Cam in good though and felt pretty good getting out of the water. What would you do differently?: I might swim a bit harder now that I have some experience with the distance in OW. Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: First time doing this distance in OW Event comments: Good race. I got a medal which was awesome. I will definitely do it again next year. Last updated: 2008-06-25 12:00 AM
