Well, I guess it depends on whether you would rather be closer to the start line/transition or the finish line/run course. The Seelbach Hilton is literally 100 yards from the finish line, on 4th street on the run course, and on the same block that you will loop around to head out on the 2nd loop of the run course. So that would be an excellent option for naping, etc. during the run/waiting on the finish. The Hyatt is on the other side of the finish line, about 2 blocks closer to the start line/transition
(don't quote me, but probably like 4-6 blocks to the start
). Again a great option for being close to the finish line, but about 2 blocks from the run turnaround/but 2 blocks closer to the start. The Marriott is one block closer to the start line than the Hyatt
(this is where my parents are staying
). The host hotel is the Galt House. It's on the river, not that far from the start/transition
(maybe 3-4 blocks, someone else who has stayed there can chime in
) and about 2-3 blocks down 4th street from the finish
(in my opinion maybe a little too far from everything for a 6 month and 3 yo. Lastly, there is a Residence Inn
(I believe, I'll have to check
) about one block from the start/transition. She would have to walk over the the finish line which would be 6 blocks or so, but most of the day will be spent watching the swim/bike so that is probably closest if that's the case. All in all, if I were coming from out of town
(and for sheer location as I have never stayed in these hotels
) I would pick the Hyatt or the Hilton. The Hilton is high-class/upscale so I'd throw that one out for me......so that leaves the Hyatt. But again these are my personal opinions. Don't put too much weight on them. If you need a map marked with the hotels and can't find one online shoot me a PM and I'll scan one in and e-mail it to you.
