Subject: bike maps?

OK- So I want to ride home from the Oshkosh tri Sunday.... does anyone know how/where to find a map that would help me find a good route to take?  II know it will be 60-70 miles. I  tried mapquest and entered avoid hwys- but its still a lot of busy streets/smaller hwys.  I mean I know the general direction to go, but I just sort of want to have an idea.

Thanks guys

i like mapmyride.com. i know that there are probably many other alternatives-even google maps will work, but that is what i use to find new and different routes that others have used. good luck.

Try using google maps. They have an option that lets you pick a "walking" route. That could possibly do better?

Bike Shops - (wheel & Sprocket) have a series of Maps shoing different regions of Wisconsin. The hwys are color coded depending on traffic. I'm not sure, but it's like Blue are good for cyclist, Green are great, red are too busy, etc. I would check with your local bike shop or maybe (slim chance) a barnes & Noble

an experienced cyclist who has ridden across the US and done several PAC tours told me one time, stay off of numbered hwys and when possible ride the lettered hwys
