Subject: Ramblin Rose Tri
Hi everybody!

Just wondering if anybody is doing the Ramblin Rose Tri in Winston Salem in a few weeks? I will be there, along with a few of my co-workers-it's our first Tri! Anybody have any experience with this Tri in the past? I know this is the first time it is being held in Winston, but it was in Charlotte and Raleigh previously.

Thanks for any input!

I did the one in Chapel Hill in 2006. It's a great race and Setup Events always puts on a superb event. You'll have fun! My favorite thing about racing is flying through intersections because they always have cops stopping traffic for the bikers - YEAH! At least Setup's races are like that. I've heard stories of bikers getting lost on the course at other races. Good luck, Carol

I'm racing.  I helped out in Chapel Hill last year and I think you'll find it to be a very supportive atmosphere for your first triathlon.  Lots of ladies pick a Ramblin' Rose for their first tri, so you certainly won't be alone.

I did the Chapel Hill race last year and will again this year.  My first race last year as well.  Fabulous event.  Everyone is so supportive and having a great time.  I have a race report for last years event if you are interested. I talk about a lot of my newbie mistakes and things I learned about racing. The Ramblin Rose is all about exposing women to the sport of triathlons and meeting their goals.  I think everyone felt 10x better about themselves after leaving that race. Have a great time. Oh, and if Endurance is offering the video again, I would pay the $10 and get it. it took them forever to get the video out, but how many people have a video suvenier (sp?) of their first race?

Thanks for the info....I'm not quite as nervous now, however I do have a mtn bike!  I'm thinking about getting a road bike and have narrowed it down to 2.....a Trek 2.1 or the Fezzari Catania Triple.  Hopefully I'll get one within the next few weeks!
