Wow, for August just getting to the top of the hump there sure is a lot of interest in September's challenge.  Sounds like it will be an exciting challenge with lots of competition.

Pssst, here's a little secret... I don't like running.

What do you mean, "That's not a secret"?????

Should explain, this comes from tormenting my best friend in college, who was/is from Iowa and VERY proud of that fact, and would turn all red and shake and get this super scary look in her eyes when people asked if that was where they grew potatoes. They grow like every freakin' crop, but not so very many potatoes. It was really funny, so of course, I had to torture her about it. And then, one day, we found a card in Walmart with this farmer growing potatoes...in Iowa. There was actual steam coming from her ears. It was too, too classic. Of COURSE I bought it for her!

So I was continuing to torture Iowans who were torturing each other. Doing my part to recognize that there really is a middle to this country, even if we know nothing about what goes on there.

Okay, sorry, hijack over. Back to running.

Having gone to college in Iowa and ending up on the East coast, I hear the potato comment all the time. The only sad part is - I can't always tell who is pulling my chain and who failed 5th grade geography. (Thanks for clearing it up for me as to yourself.)

I'm definitely in for a running challenge as we get into Fall.  I keep hearing about these states in between New England and L.A., but really, who can tell them apart...;-)

I would be interested in this challenge but I need time to plan out my goals for the month.  I'm student teaching this semester and taking a class.  I'll let you know distance by the end of the week.
