Subject: Calf cramps/pain
I've been running and cycling since April.  As I increase my cycling I run into problems with my calves.  I've been stretching and gradually increase my cycling mileage.  Is it common when increasing cross training to run into problems?

I don't have an answer for you other than to tell you I have been dealing with very similar issues.  I just moved my bike cleat and am starting to see slight improvement.  Other things I have changed (just to give you some things to try)...increasing calcium, increasing water intake, ditching some of my favorite pairs of trendy shoes (this one was indeed the one I HATED to try...those leopard print shoes just add the perfect sass to the black dress).

There is another thread about this subject in the main forums right now.  I would start with making sure you have a decent fit on your bike, especially your feet.
