Subject: What to wear for a beginner?
I'm entering my first tri next month, and i'm not sure how to work the different outfits into one that will work for all three events.  Do I swim in my bike shorts and run top?  I don't want to ride bike and run in bathing suit...a) for the lack of padding and b) I need a bra for running. So if any other ladies have suggestions, please let me know.

Hey!
What I do, Is I wear my spandex Lu Lu Lemon bike shorts over my bathing suit (you'll most likely look funny, but it works!!), that way I just jump into my bike shoes and I'm on my way for the bike. Then because I don't have a number belt, I'll have my run number pinned to a shirt, and when I get back from the bike, I'll put on the shirt while I'm running.

What I've seen people do, is wear a sports bra under their bathing suit. It won't slow down your swim or anything, just gives some extra support.
Also, wearing the shorts over the bathing suit is a bit more comfy than just a bathing suit.

Let us know how your Tri goes, and have fun!!

I am fairly new to triathlons also. Currently I am just focused on finishing and having fun.

I wear a racing 2 piece for the swim-a sports bra for the top-but not white. I pull my bike shorts and jersey on over the suit and run in the bike shorts.

If/when I become more competitive this will change-it is hard to put bike shorts on a damp body.

For my first one, I bought a pair of tri shorts and wore the top of a two piece swim suit.  In transition, I put on my bike jersey and bike and ran in that.

You don't have to have specialized clothing.  If you are planning on putting more clothes on, make sure to practice this while you are wet!  It's a challenge and some things will work better than others.

I invested in a two piece tri suit. It has support in the top and light padding in the seat! I just get out of the water and right onto the bike. Don't worry about being wet. You'll dry off plenty quick. It was so worth the money.

I wouldn't worry about changing my clothes for anything shorter than a half--even that is iffy for me. It's just such a pain.

Speaking for most of the girls in my tri club, the standard seems to be tri-shorts, with a sports bra and tri tank.
