I suffer from chronic abdominal pain. The doctors officially say IBS but I think it's more...Because I don't really have symptoms of IBS but since the pain is in the abdomen that seems to be the easiest diagnosis. I go in for a colonoscopy in a few weeks so I'll know what is then(maybe). And can I add that 26 is an unfair age to have to go in for a colonoscopy.

My thing is that I have a hard time keeping a training schedule because of the pain. And the medicine they have me on makes me sleepy so that's difficult too.

Does anyone have any coping strategies? Am I going to be ok if I miss a few training days?

I think the important thing is to listen to your body. If your in pain, you probably shouldn't go out and train. I'd go for a second opinion.  Ay meds help?

As for me, I have a condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis. A.S. is a form of arthritis that is long-lasting (chronic) and most often affects the spine. It can cause pain, stiffness, swelling, and limited motion in the low back, middle back, and neck, and sometimes areas such as the hips, chest wall, and heels.

Meds have helped, but I was far worse off before I started any training.  I have some tough days, but its been manageable.

Again, just listen to your body.
