Didn't see any race discussion for this soooooooo....

Anything planned between now (the day before Reston) and race date?  Rides/runs?

I rode the course on Labor Day ... and let me tell you -- it's all it's hyped to be (and more)

Starting a taper for Savageman soon -- maybe some BTers can meet up before/ after the race?

I just signed up for this race.  I was scheduled to race The Patriot's Half in Williamsburg but they cancelled that due to Hanna.  Although I've heard that this course is tough, I'm excited to race it.  Good luck to everyone!

Good lcuk to everyone!  I really wish I was able to mqake it this year, but a family wedding in MT directly interferes with the scheduling.

Here's an archived thread that's worth a read - links to some race reports from lots of different people (including my entirely too long RR) to give you an idea of what the race is like:

I will be there!

I did the Aquabike last year...doing the half this year.

The bike course is a serious beater.

I sure hope the weather stays as forecasted! High of 69 and low of 47. Great racing weather, especially for the Half! Can't wait!!!

I can handle uphills, but I'm getting kind of worried about the downhills. I am not all that excited about my bike getting out of control going down steep inclines.

Also starting to wonder, as I peruse the 2007 results, about some people who I know are great athletes, who DNFed. Like Mayor Fenty? How could he DNF? He and someone else I know of both finished the bike and yet DNFed.

What are you guys going to wear on the bike ride? It's darn cold for a bike ride.

I've been thinking about that --- there is a clothing drop in Westernport, which is the beginning of the climb.  I think I'm going to wear my tri top with a long sleeved fitted tech shirt over it.  I'll also have my arm warmers ...
