Event warmup:

None, should have run some to get legs warmed up so I did not run so easy the first 1/2 mile or so.

Comments:

Once this race turned into a Duathlon I set a goal to see how well I could do on the bike. Also, once I got going goal was not to be passed by anyone. One guy and I kept passing each other but in the end I got to T2 before he did and as I was in front of the school the guy who won and one other guy, both going into T2 while I still had another lap to go passed me. I am not going to count them. It was fun.
Transition 2
  • 01m 5s
Comments:

Total embarassment, dont know what I did other than get off bike, cleats started to slide on pavement, skiied/skated for 10 ft, completely wiped out. People asking if I am alright, even if I would have broken my leg would have hopped up out of embarassment. Guy taking pictures apologized because he missed the shot, which would have been really funny had he been able to get it.
What would you do differently?:

Not wipe out.
Run

Comments:

Wow, the first run, then going hard on the bike really took my legs away from me. A real struggle to keep the pace up. Quads and calves were really burning up the hills. All in all pretty pleased would have been interesting to see how much faster I could have gone with swim instead of run first. Big improvement over last year so pretty happy.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing

Good job on the race man;

Our run + bike times are very close together (within a few seconds); and I remember jockeying with someone a lot on the bike; although I don't remember seeing anyone fall down at T2.

I was number 374.

Also, good job on the 10k, it looks like that is where you put me in your rear view mirror for good.
