Subject: RE: Anyone near Eglin?I went through survival school at Eglin when I was at AOCS in Pensacola. (Pensacola is about 60 miles to the west). That was back in the mid-70's, and there has been a lot of development along the coast since then. Florida is hot and humid in the summertime, but the breeze off the gulf can help to moderate things somewhat. Being able to workout year 'round is great as long as you don't do it in the middle of the day. It's pretty flat so you have to be innovative to get in any hill work; at the same time riding in strong winds can be a challenge. The climate also provides a 12 month growing season for bugs and other critters. Mark |
