Subject: What is your favourite type of workout??

Since about January i have been pretty dedicated to getting in great shape. It started off as training for senior year of Soccer in high school, but as my town hosted its 5th annual triathlon (a double sprint tri, over two days) i have been training for triathlon, and am hooked.....ohh yeah!

The question izz ---> When you do your excercises, whether is is jut get up and go, or following a training plan, which is your favourite type of workout or training??

Feel free to explain why..... Even though I am hooked on triathlon, i love my biking sprint interval training, and rollerblading.  They both allow me to take a camelpack and are very easy on my joints and allow me to go all out giving me the "good" pain , and less of the joint bashing "bad" pain.

Ill try to list as many different options, feel free to explain your favourite if i have not listed it.

I voted for open water swimming, just because I love the freeing way it feels; however, long distance bicycling (I love riding long on beautiful bike paths) and indoor pool swimming are very close seconds.

I only run.

Of that, I enjoy a good progression run.  Start off at a comfortable pace, and then just get faster and faster over the next several miles, finish up about a minute + per mile faster than you started.  This workout usually covers 7-10 miles.

It's even better when you just let it happen.  You just roll through the miles.  Often, I start out feeling low, not even really wanting to be out.  Then it just clicks, and that's awesome.

I prefer the long rides... I wasn't into riding before tris, but now I really enjoy spending hours on my bike. I think I enjoy the wind and feeling that I get when I knock out 60-70 miles using my own power. When I tell people this I usually hear "man, I hate driving that far."

Mountain Biking, because although it is exercise, it isn't training, it isn't a workout, it's just fun.

Mountain biking for me as well. I love it, all the hard work uphill for the thrill ride down hill. I love a hilly course for triathlon because I am so use to it riding the mtn bike.

Swimming has become my favorite - not really sure why, cause I really suck at it, but I am seeing improvements, so that could be it.  No easy OWS access, so it's all pool for me.

This may sound strange, but I love biking in the hills best. Its the combination of working so hard to climb then getting my reward as I try and break 70k downhill!! A fantastic combo.

I like them all! Which I suppose is probably a good thing.

I would say my first love is riding though. Any distance, in a group at a blistering pace. That is awesome!

My second love...well, it's  a toss up, probably running. I love to do very short LT runs or longer distance LSD runs in misty rain.

I love to swim, but have spent most of my life doing it, so it's become a love/hate relationship!

Dude! It's like you just read my mind! I love those workouts when you start off not feeling it and just say to yourself "stick it out, you'll feel better" and sure enough by the last mile when you got a good fast pace going your loving every second of it.

i am a big fan of the post-am-swim hot shower. it actually does wonders for my swim split (because without that to look fwd to i would never get up so early).

1st time this past week I did my own sprint tri at the gym, 20min swim x 20min (spinn @ 90 - 100rpm spin bike) x 20min run (treadmill). I really enjoyed it and will add it to my winter training sessions, just wanted to break up the norm...........

I love running just for the simplicity of it.  Throw on shoes and go, no equipment, no driving to the pool.  Love it.

I just started tri training.  My real passion is Off-Road Atv Racing.  GNCC for those who are familiar.  A Sprint Tri is easy(I hope!) compared to wrestling with 400lbs of machine for 2 hours straight.  All this tri training is sure going to help me kick butt at the Quad races this year!!!
