Leesburg,
Subject: Quitting is Not an Option!
Hi everybody!  So this was to have been my year ... Cancun is this weekend, and Arizona is in November.  But I managed to tear the cartilage in my hip.  A labral tear, they call it.  Can't run, can hardly walk.  I'm scheduled for surgery in the late fall.  The season is entirely crapped out.  All that race money is up in smoke.  But I'm not quitting.  So I just signed up for *training lite* again, trying to stay as healthy as I can, focusing on eating vegan, and keeping the faith.   Just wanted to check in and say hi and, although completely humbled, here we go at a much reduced pace.

So happy to have you back. I was worried about you after pm'ing you. so sorry to hear about your injuries, but glad you're "back in the saddle". Your time will come.
As for me, I can't wait til this is over. Not having fun. 100 mile bike ride on Sat., half mary on Sunday, 3700 yards this past Thursday and believe it or not, read the IMFL sanity check posts, I'm not doing HALF of what they are.
Yikes.

Could be a good time to work on the swim?  If hip rotation is a problem there, as a worst case you might be able to use a pull buoy and work on your stroke mechanics... hey, who knows, it might transform the swim into your power event

getting hurt sucks. Worse part is sometimes you can find something else to do but the injury depression sucks.

After I got hurt while training for IMKY I was depressed for like 3 months. My only cure was to get healthy and then sign up for IMWI. You can not always help injuries. You just need to work threw them. I wish you a speedy recovery.

Good luck with the surgery!  The most important thing is your health and I know its tough but heal up and get back into it when you can.

Can I just say, I was happy to see the words 'eating vegan' in your post!  I figured that would be a rarity around here but its nice to see there are others.
