Total Time = 1h 49m 5s
Overall Rank = 468/2175

Age Group Rank = 60/133
Pre-race routine:

got up had a bluberry bagel.. part of a Powerbar.. pre-torch..
Event warmup:

talk to a bunch of people, stand in line for the bathroom, then realize there are no garbage cans around the start line just as the race is beginning.. so I guess I got a little 'warm-up' run in as well.
Run
  • 1h 49m 5s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

I was actually throwing away garbage as the race started - so as people were running down the street, I was running across the lawn...

Got started a little after everyone, which made it fun for the first couple miles especially, able to pass a lot of people, so my mind was away from the actual running part of this.

I PR'd by 3 minutes. Didn't have Garmin OR watch, just ran where I was comfortable. Looking back, it may have been a little too easy on myself, but I'm happy with the end result.

What would you do differently?:

maybe push a little harder. I didn't use electronics (except the i-pod) for this race, and the only clocks on the course were at 5 miles and again at 10 miles, so I was only going on how I felt for this run.
Post race
Warm down:

went through the finisher's area, then went to find Sandi out on the course with mutri and his mom.. it was fun.

Event comments:

Great day by several donkeys.. got to say I'm MOST proud of Sandi -- who finished in 3:54, a PR by 45 minutes... to say she did well is an understatement!! Way to go Bebe!!

Great race by Jeanne, jszat, and several other friends who ran.

Thanks to mutri and his mom for driving me around to find Sandi after I finished.

Also got to say that mutri's MOM got the best slam on me that I may have ever gotten.. we were talking about Josh getting new shoes, and she was wondering why he needed new shoes - she new I got my Newton's last October, and am still running in them.. I made the comment of "I'm not very tough on shoes." She didn't miss a beat, and said "That's because you don't train very much." Now I'm gettin' harrassed by donkeys MOMS??????? Oh yeah, it's gonna be a fun year..

Check the race results again.  They posted gun time first and now chip time.

Nice job on the race.

Thanks!! That makes me feel a lot better.. now I can drink beer for nutrition on the Tyranena 1/2 barrel run in November instead of trying to go under 1:50.
