Jen, how are your ears?

Better.  I got a new nasal spray and switched to allegra with decongestant and that helped clear it all up.

My keyboard doesn't have the accents on it. And I was too lazy to look on Google for the accented version.

Can something like marathon training upset the thyroid levels or is that an independent issue?

The training brought my migraines back when I was going through it.

Not usually.  Normally, your body will compensate by increasing levels as needed.  I have an auto-immune disease, so my body can't make enough thyroid hormone.  I have to take synthetic hormone and get tested about every 8 - 12 weeks for right now (until I get more stable).

I see.  I guess, though not caused by it, it makes it much more difficult to go through the training.  You are some kind of tough.  I REALLY hope you get some answers and have it under control, and I really, really, really want you to feel what crossing that finish line is like.

Oh, I'm going to do it even if I have to walk.

It's a lot better than it used to be.  I'm lucky that it's pretty easy to treat.

Glad you've been able to get it under control.

Some people are easier to treat than others.

(Speaking as someone who has tried for more than ten years to do that...)

Yeah.  I actually put in more hours of training for my tris this summer than I did for the marathon and had no issues.  There's just something so grueling about it that the strain would carry over.  I don't know if it was the stress, anger and being so sore, or what.  It was mainly the night after long runs.  I would have splitting headaches that made me want to puke.  It had been three years since I had gotten them, and I haven't gotten them since.
